Adsorbent PIMIT
Sulfur Removal adsorbent is used as Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas absorbent in oil and gas industry. It is also used in waste treatment, steel industries, and Ammonia factories.
One of the separation processes of sulfur in natural gas uses Sulfur Removal Adsorbent such as Sponge Iron, Sulfatreat, TC-77, DEA, Activated Carbon, etc (most of these have to be imported). Due to the content of H2S in the gas in Aceh is quite large (80-300 ppm), whereas tolerable amount of H2S to enter the process is only 5 ppm, the demand for Sulfur Removal Adsorbent for a fertilizer plant is big enough.
Therefore, PT. PIM, who worked with ITB - Bandung, conducted their own research to produce Adsorbent Sulfur Removal, and they have found a process for producing sulfur removal adsorbent with better quality than that used today. This finding was named PIMIT.
